A love story, with food.
I'm Sal, and my journey to creating The Homestead Pantry began with falling in love - first with food in my grandmothers kitchen at home in England, then with a country boy from Bourke. My background in the food industry, including years as a cook and butcher on a cattle station in Far North Queensland, laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong passion for quality ingredients.
Today, you'll find me in the Riverina of New South Wales, where I balance life as a farmer's wife, The Homestead Pantry and mum to three gorgeous bush kids. Like many families, our kitchen is the heart of our home, but in 2018, everything changed. An autoimmune diagnosis forced me to completely rethink our family's relationship with food. This health journey taught me something crucial: eating well doesn't mean restricting what we enjoy - it means being mindful about what goes into our meals. As I researched ingredients and learned more about artificial additives, I became passionate about sourcing clean, natural products that didn't compromise on flavour.
That's why I created The Homestead Pantry. Every product we offer is thoughtfully chosen, 100% Australian-made, and free from artificial nasties. I personally source from artisan producers who share my commitment to pure, honest ingredients. Because whether you're managing health challenges like me, or simply want the best for your family, I believe everyone deserves access to premium pantry essentials that make wholesome cooking both delicious and achievable.
From my family's home to yours, every product we offer is chosen with care, consideration, and the firm belief that real food, made with real ingredients, is more than just sustenance - it's a foundation for wellbeing, it's about tradition, love and family gathered around a table.
