Extra sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, honey, char siu, soy sauce, and minced garlic to create the marinade.
  2. Marinade pork rashers in the mixture for 4 hours up to 24 hours before cooking. For optimal flavor, marinate overnight.

  4. Arrange the marinated pork rashers in a single layer on the prepared baking tray.
  5. Place the tray in the oven and cook for 40 minutes, turning the rashers 2-3 times during cooking to ensure even cooking and sticky edges.
  6. Once cooked, let the pork stand for 5 minutes before brushing each rasher with the extra marinade before serving. Sprinkle chopped spring onions on top.

Hints & Tips

  • For extra sauce, double the amount of additional marinade and warm it for 30 seconds in the microwave. Serve it on the side for drizzling.
  • If pork isn't preferred, chicken thighs or lamb ribs can be used as alternatives.
  • Serve the Chinese pork over rice with a simple cucumber salad or a more substantial satay slaw.
  • Utilise the pork rashers to create quick bánh mì or steamed buns for a more exciting meal.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Suitable for freezing.
